Notes:
74 yrs old, living with son
Edmond Bedell , Yorktown, 1850, name 'Deborah Conklin'
********
For several years I could not find the parents of Edmond Bedell. There
was published information that pointed to Edmond being the grandson
of Ephriam: from History of Westchester County Vol. II; pg 441,published
1886
"North of Mohansic Lake about the same date [as the Whitneys settled
in Yorktown] located Ephriam Bedell on a farm of three hundred acres.
Edmund Bedell (recently deceased) a grandson, occupied a portion of
the old homestead." and :from The Journal of Reverend Silas Constant:
pg 78, note 141- "Ephraim Bedle, of Yorktown, whose will of 16
September, 1809, named .....grandson Edmond, son of daughter Deborah.
I believed Deborah Conklin to be his mother, as she was living with
him in 1850 and souces pointed to her having married John Conklin. None
of the sources added the fact that Edmond was born out of wedlock and
that Deborah didn't marry John Conklin until she was 46 years old. On
May 15 2008 I found the following record in Westchester County Archives,
Court Records, 1768-1912 --
